Usuthu players joined thousands of Durban’s children on Saturday, 22 February 2014 who wished renowned KZN businessman Vivian Reddy a happy 61st birthday at Moses Mabhida People’s Park in a day of dancing and singing.

The party saw more than a thousand kids from around 140 schools with some from impoverished backgrounds being treated to a day of wild fun, meals and music on the day.

The philanthropist also gave away a scholarships to a few lucky children under the Vivian Reddy Foundation.

The AmaZulu Community Trust’s Mpho Dintwa commended the 60th year old’s display of generosity to the future leaders of South Africa. “It’s always good to see young people given any kind of love and this from Mr Reddy was quite a thoughtful deed.” “Bringing together children like this goes a long way and we were only glad that the AmaZulu players were also able to join in to wish him a happy birthday and have fun with the children,” said Dintwa.

KZN Health MEC, Dr Sbongiseni Dhlomo, Former Miss SA Tatum Keshwar and Generations star Winnie Modise (popularly known as Khethiwe) were some of the high profile guests who also entertained the young citizens.
