Sugar Ray Xulu Benefit Day serves purpose

Princess Magogo Stadium was the place to be on 26 February 2017 as throngs of KZN football enthusiasts rallied behind the Benefit Day to honour club legend, Cedric Sugar Ray Xulu in fitting style.

Chart topping Maskandi artists Khuzani Mpungose and Mroza Fakude were the main acts who entertained the crowd.

“Thank you to everyone that supported the initiative from the sponsors to every supporter that came. We raised R128 000 for the Sugar Ray Xulu Legacy Programme,” said AmaZulu Community Trust Chairman, Lunga Sokhela.

Proceeds collected will go into the Sugar Ray Xulu Legacy Programme and help the 77 year old Usuthu icon in his fight against Prostate Cancer.

The day began with AmaZulu U19 Team beating Menziwa United 3-1 in an SAB League fixture with goals from Lindokuhle Zungu, Sifundo Nkosi and Lungisani Sem.
