High school pupils from Hammersdale will be involved in a collaborative soccer project between the AmaZulu Community Trust and Rainbow Chickens are tipped to reap the rewards of grassroots development training.
The chicken producing company which focuses on education as a way to give back to the community has found a partner with the same drive in the AmaZulu Community Trust through sports and life skills.
“This soccer project dovetails perfectly with the education work which we are already doing in these schools and assists the community of Hammersdale – an important community around our plants,” said Rainbow Chickens Communications Head, Warren Farrer.
Through weekly coaching clinics under the watch of former Bafana Bafana and AmaZulu coach Clive Barker, and AmaZulu coaches Joel Faya and Ronnie Moroka, pupils and coaches from 9 schools are taught the best football techniques and are given life skills training.
A soccer tournament involving all 9 schools around the township which will hosted by both the AmaZulu Community Trust and Rainbow Chicken.
