Usuthu Inspire KIA Street Winners
The KZN winners of the KIA Street Soccer tournament have been earmarked for greatness after an AmaZulu Community Trust led contingency visited the Edamini Primary School on Friday, 23 November 2012.
Despite falling short of winning the overall proceedings at the Provincial finals in August, former Bafana Bafana coach, Clive Barker told the young players that they had what it takes to play at the highest level.
The school assembly erupted into cheers when former Kaizer Chiefs striker Fani Madida and Usuthu legend shared their stories of how to make it to the top in professional.
“All of those who played in the tournament have what it takes to play in the top. When you look at Bafana Bafana current coach Gordon Igesund. He is from KZN and Clive too is from KZN as well as me.
There is great potential in this province. So if you believe in yourself you can go out to make history,” said Madida.
Development Head, Ronnie Moroka hinted that a door remains open for some of the youngsters that impressed in the five-a-side tournament.
Adidas sponsored soccer boots were presented to the budding footballers by AmaZulu Community Trust Coordinator, Mpho Dintwa while the coaches were given signed jerseys from the first team.
